About

David P. Broderick has practiced law since 2009 and has specialized in family law for the last fourteen years in the North Shore and Greater Boston area. David is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court District of Massachusetts. David focuses his practice on divorce, paternity, child custody, alimony, modification proceedings, and contempt proceedings. An experienced litigator, David has appeared, argued, and tried cases throughout Massachusetts. David appears in Essex County Probate & Family Court, Middlesex County Probate & Family Court, Suffolk County Probate & Family Court, Norfolk County Probate & Family Court, and District Courts throughout the Commonwealth.

David has represented clients who have had high conflict custody and parenting disputes, removal disputes, domestic violence, narcissist spouses, contested Guardian Ad Litem investigations, alimony modifications and termination of alimony. Many divorce and paternity matters involve 209A Abuse Prevention Orders, which David has litigated both for and against the issuance of restraining orders in the District Court and Probate and Family Court. David also has extensive experience with complex high net worth asset division involving the valuation of financial assets and closely held businesses. David's experience includes working with parties who have complex financial situations concerning self-employment, and executive compensation packages, including bonuses, commissions, employer retirement contributions, tax deferred benefits, stock options, restricted stock, and employee stock purchase plans. Division of retirement assets can be a complicated issue in divorces, especially when it involves state retirement benefits and military retirement. David has represented state employees and members of the United States military, including the United States Coast Guard.

In addition to zealous advocacy on behalf of clients both in and out of the courtroom, David participates and volunteers for the Attorneys Representing Children Program (“ARC”) at the Essex County Probate and Family Court, where the Court appoints him to represent children in high conflict divorce and paternity matters. David has also been appointed as a discovery master by the Court to resolve complex discovery issues in divorce.
